Students are required to complete the core curriculum as approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Students will have to complete the following core courses:
- Communication – 6 hours
- Language, Philosophy, and Culture – 3 hours
- Creative Arts – 3 hours
- American History – 6 hours
- Government/Political Science – 6 hours
- Social & Behavioral Sciences – 3 hours
- Life and Physical Sciences – 9 hours minimum
- Mathematics – 6 hours minimum
Note: A student's degree plan may have courses prescribed from the core. Please check with your academic advisor to confirm acceptable coursework. For a list of approved courses, please visit the Core Curriculum website.
In addition to the Core Curriculum courses, students will also be required to complete the following:
- International & Cultural Diversity – 3 hours
- Cultural Discourse – 3 hours
