Program Benefits

This program increases your opportunities to learn and grow while here at Texas A&M University. By allowing students additional time to pursue more advanced classes, they have increased opportunities to take advantage of the rich options our department has to offer.

This is a great choice for the many students who come to Texas A&M with credit by examination, dual credit and community college credit. These students would typically graduate in just two or three years and can use the extra year this program provides to:

  • Become involved in student organizations
  • Take on leadership positions in the university
  • Pursue career path-altering internships
  • Participate in our study abroad programs
  • Collaborate with faculty and graduate students in research projects
  • Compete for fellowships and admission into other Texas A&M programs
  • Cultivate strong mentor relationships with faculty members

Eligibility

The program begins each fall semester. If you are interested in this program, you should apply in the spring of your junior year. You must have two full undergraduate terms remaining when you apply to be eligible for this program.

If you are accepted, you will take one graduate course in each of your senior semesters while you complete the undergraduate coursework. You will then complete the master of arts degree. Academic advisors at both the undergraduate and graduate levels will guide you through the process every step of the way.
