There are two different telecommunication media studies undergraduate degrees offered at Texas A&M: the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science.

Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunication Media Studies
The Bachelor of Arts offers a broad approach to media topics. This program draws on coursework from across the College of Arts and Sciences and Texas A&M at large.
The B.A. requires study in:
- Communication technology skills

- Media theory
You'll then choose from a selection of electives in communication, film studies, journalism and business.
The Bachelor of Arts is a flexible, media-oriented degree and is supported by study of a foreign language.
Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunication Media Studies Curriculum

Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Media Studies
The Bachelor of Science offers a specialized study of telecommunication, media and quantitative systems. The degree is supported with the study of research methods and quantitative concepts in statistics and research design.
You will select communication courses that address:
- Media industries
- Law and policy
- Technology and society
- Media audiences, processes and effects
The practice of media and acquisition of media skills are included. You may customize this degree by selecting additional coursework to round out your particular media interests.
Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Media Studies Curriculum
First-Year Experience
Coursework for incoming freshmen for both programs begins with a dedicated first-semester experience. This experience introduces you to the breadth of the field of communication and of media. You'll be involved in small groups that help you get acquainted with Texas A&M, our resources and our opportunities. We also welcome transfer students, meeting them where they are and integrating them into the communication family.
Enhance Your Degree with a Minor
All telecommunication media studies majors are required to select a minor to accompany their major field of study. Minors are 15–18 credit hours and will display on your transcript after graduation, but not on your diploma. You can choose an area related to communication or a different discipline, based on your interests.
