The increasing demands that population growth and affluence put on the natural resources and the Earth’s environment require greater numbers of trained professionals and informed citizens. The BS degree in Environmental Geosciences embraces all the disciplines of geosciences to give the student a rigorous interdisciplinary education including issues associated with environmental policy. 

You'll learn about the scientific, human-dimension and policy aspects of environmental issues facing our state and nation.

Students focus coursework in one of five environmental themes:

  1. Coastal and marine environment
  2. Water
  3. Human impact on the environment
  4. Climate change
  5. Biosphere - regions of the earth occupied by living organisms

After graduation, you'll be prepared to work in industry, environmental and engineering consulting firms, non-governmental organizations, and governmental regulatory agencies, among others
