Biography
Colton Rodgers is a Geo-Information Specialist (GIS) for the Airfields and Pavements Branch in Vicksburg, MS. Originally from the small town of Alamo, Tennessee, he attended college at Jackson State Community College in 2016 and received an Associate’s of Science in General Studies. He received a Bachelor’s of Science from Mississippi State University in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture with a minor in Geospatial Technologies and Remote Sensing in 2019. He attended graduate school at the University of Arkansas in 2023 and received a Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Technologies. Colton is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Geographic Information Science and Technology (GIST) and hopes to complete his studies in the Spring of 2027 through Texas A&M.
Colton began his career as an enlisted military soldier in the U.S. Army Tennessee National Guard. His assignments included team leader for multiple operations performed in the U.S. and around the World. He currently is assigned as a Geo-Information Specialist to ERDC and assists on multiple projects including airfield pavement evaluations, rail projects, rapid assessment of airfield pavements, airfield damage assessment, and various other projects. Colton has become a subject matter expert in the structural and condition assessment of airfield pavements, assessing more than 100 Army Airfields, to help support the nation and continue serving his country. His GIS efforts have contributed to IMCOM, the U.S. Department of the Army, other service branches, and GSL.
