Former biology student Nathaniel Garcia ’98 and his wife Andrea have planned generous endowed gifts for the future of the biology, chemistry and physics programs at Texas A&M.

Dr. Nathaniel R. ’98 and Andrea Garcia from Round Rock, Texas, are planning to strengthen three disciplines in the College of Arts and Sciences through a planned gift with the Texas A&M Foundation: a science research endowment, a scholarship and a science outreach fund.

Planned giving allows individuals to designate a future gift to Texas A&M in their estate plans, creating a legacy of support for the next generations of Aggies.

  • The Dr. Nathan ’98 and Andrea Garcia Science Research Endowment will be used to support research-related experimental learning for undergraduate or graduate students specializing in biology or chemistry.
  • The Dr. Nathan ’98 and Andrea Garcia Endowed Scholarship will provide financial assistance to full-time, first-generation undergraduate students pursuing a degree in biology or chemistry who plan to attend professional school after completing an undergraduate degree.
  • The Dr. Nathan ’98 and Andrea Garcia Science Outreach Fund will support biology, chemistry and physics outreach activities for students or teachers in those fields.

After completing a Bachelor of Science in biology at Texas A&M, Nathaniel continued his education at the Southern College of Optometry where he received a Doctor of Optometry. He practices at Stone Hill Optical in Pflugerville, Texas.
