Examine the ways gender and sexuality are socially constructed through the minor in LGBTQ+ studies. You'll critically analyze how sexuality and sexual orientation shape gender roles, identities, and social statuses in societies.

Develop critical thinking, writing and analytical skills as you explore a wide range of topics, including:

  • The history and practice of social activism
  • Extensive scholarship on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds
  • Homophobia and transphobia's relationship to forms of power (colonialism, sexism, ableism, classism, etc.)

Through these courses, you'll develop an intricate and nuanced understanding of LGBTQ+ lived experiences, histories and social movements.
