Omari Burton

Omari joined the Academic Advising team in the Department of Economics at Texas A&M University in December of 2022. He is committed to helping students navigate their academic journey with confidence and clarity and passionate about student success. Omari takes a coaching-based approach to advising that is grounded in respect, accountability, optimism, honesty, and integrity.

While Omari earned a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology at Texas A&M, with a strong focus on creativity, cognition, and student development. His academic background and professional experience shape the way he supports students through goal setting, problem solving, and long-term planning, both inside and outside the classroom.

In his role, Omari enjoys creating meaningful student experiences, improving engagement, and helping students connect to resources that support their growth. He is especially motivated by opportunities to make advising more impactful, approachable, and student-centered.

Outside of work, Omari enjoys sports, movies, photography, and creative projects. He is a big college football fan and is always thinking about new ways to build, create, and bring ideas to life.
