Biography
Shelby joined the Academic Advising team in the Department of Economics at Texas A&M University in December of 2022. Originally from a small town in the Texas Panhandle, she brings both heart and grit to her work. Shelby graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a B.A. in History. After discovering her passion for higher education and student support, she began building a career dedicated to helping students navigate their academic journeys and self-efficacy. She recently earned her M.S. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in 2024, continuing her commitment to leadership and student advocacy within higher education.
Shelby enjoys creating spaces where students feel supported, empowered, and confident in their next steps. She values connection, encouragement, and a little humor along the way.
On a more personal note, Shelby is a proud cat mom to Selena, a Hufflepuff at heart, and the self-proclaimed coolest aunt around. She’s a longtime fan of The Maine and a big admirer of Freddie Mercury. When she’s not working with students, you can find her diving into a DIY project, hunting for rare glass insulators, or adding to her collection of vintage books.
