Biography
Chlöe completed their BSc in Environmental Biology, specializing in Plant Biology and minoring in Anthropology, at McGill University in 2019. Their research interests include paleoethnobotany and ethnoecology, especially in Texas, specifically the central and western regions of the state, the Chihuahuan Desert, and the Southwestern borderlands. They are interested in understanding how plant use, especially concerning diet, medicines, and entheogens, among others, has changed over time in these regions, and how this might inform cultures and ecologies. Chlöe has experience working at the Texas Archaeological Research Laboratory on archaeobotanical collections, as well as with the Society of Ethnobiology on the society’s governing board as a student informant.
