Gain a foundational understanding of museum studies while getting professional experience working in a museum.

The increase of collections, curatorial facilities and museums ensures this minor is a wise choice for any student with an interest in anthropology or related fields.

The minor in museum studies is offered in cooperation with the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Architecture and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Students who wish to add the Museum Studies minor can contact their major academic advisor to request the addition of the minor to their academic record. We strongly encourage completion of MUST/ARCH 221 (Foundations of Museum Studies) - or MAST 220 (Introduction to Museums and Conservation) for students on the Galveston campus - as the first course in the minor. Students are welcome to enroll in this course prior to adding the minor.

See the curriculum and course options for the Museum Studies minor in the Undergraduate Catalog.
