Biography
Kevin is a PhD student in Archaeology studying the domestication of tree fruits in Central America. His dissertation topic focuses on the origin, dispersal, and genetic diversity of domesticated avocado trees. Through the comparison of commercial, local, wild, and ancient avocado genomes alongside the documentation of traditional ecological knowledge of cultivators in Southern Mexico, Nicaragua, and Honduras, he aims to broaden our undersatnding of ancient behaviors that led to the domestication of avocados pre- and post-Contact.
