Biography

Nick completed his BS in Anthropology from Florida State University in 2019.  His research interests include paleoenvironmental reconstruction, site formation processes, the archaeology of submerged landscapes, and lithic technology. He has experience excavating at numerous submerged prehistoric archaeological sites throughout the state of Florida, including the 14,550 year old Page-Ladson site within the Aucilla River. During the Summer of 2018, he participated in excavations at the Connley Caves, a late Pleistocene and early Holocene Western Stemmed Tradition site in central Oregon. Nick is interested in using geoarchaeological techniques and deposit centered approaches to investigate the chronology and site distribution patterns of the First Americans, specifically focusing on the Southeastern United States and the Aucilla River Basin.
