Biography
I earned my BA in anthropology, Classical art & archaeology, and underwater archaeology from Indiana University in 2013 and my MA in history, focusing in maritime studies, from East Carolina University in 2017. My undergraduate and early graduate research focused on colonial Spanish material culture from shipwreck sites in the Dominican Republic and Florida. My doctoral dissertation research centers around the maritime cultural landscape of the island of St. Croix, USVI. I am also interested in the experiences of women onboard sailing ships, maritime foodways, and maritime art.
