Biography

Pin-Wen Chen is a Ph.D. student in the Nautical Anthropology Program in the Department of Anthropology. She has a Master's in Public History and Cultural Heritage from Trinity College, Dublin, and a Master's of Maritime and Coastal Archaeology from Aix-Marseille University. Ms. Chen has worked as a research assistant on terrestrial and underwater archaeological and other CRM projects in Taiwan. She has also participated in various underwater excavation projects, including the ancient harbor complex of Fos-sur-Mer (France 2019), the Aigina Harbour City Project (Greece 2019, 2022), and the Serçe Limanı Hellenistic Wreck (Turkey 2024). Her research aims to explore 19th-century Western shipwrecks in the seas around Taiwan. She is also President of the Archaeological Diving Club of Texas A&M (2023-2025).
