Pocket Closet

We have a Pocket Closet in the Advising Suite! If you need business casual to business professional clothing for career fairs or interviews, please contact econadvising@tamu.edu to set up a time to come check it out!

Students can either check out the clothing for return at a later date or keep what they select. 

Be on the lookout because we will also offer open hours for the closet close to career fair days. You can also check out the main Career Closet in the MSC!

How We Started

The idea for a pocket closet available to ALL students was a dream for a while. The Economics Advising Team is located on West Campus, and is pretty isolated from the rest of campus which is where the University's primary Career Closet is located. 

Academic Advisors attended a conference February 2024 and were talking about the dream on their way home. Upon their return they asked the Assistant Department Head how to turn it into a reality. He agreed to let us use an empty office in the front of the suite. We worked with the Career Center to create a variety of stock of business casual to professional clothing, ordered clothing racks, and hangers. We completely transformed the office into a small store. 

Who We Serve

The Closet is open to all students at Texas A&M University, regardless of major or classification. Students use the closet as needed and without questions asked from our team. They are given the option to either check out the clothing for return or to keep forever. 

Closet Donations

We started with donations from the Career Center. The Closet is associated with the Texas A&M Career Closet as a "Satellite Closet," so some initial donations came from their supply. Additionally, We received donations from faculty and staff.
