There is some fantastic work being done in coordination with our community. Texas A&M University’s Marketing and Communications team recently highlighted that exciting collaboration; Texas A&M's University Institute for Technology-Infused Learning (TITIL), under the direction of our own Dr. Rebecca Schlegel as their interim director, has been working with Bryan ISD by transforming sixth-grade science classrooms!
Through the STEM+C program, teachers are diving into coding, model building, and interactive lessons alongside Texas A&M mentors, who bring real-world science and engineering experience straight into the classroom. Each teacher receives ready-to-use curriculum packages, complete with lesson plans, student materials, and guides, so students can jump right into tech-driven learning. Over four years, the program has reached nearly 600 students, helping them develop analytical thinking, creativity, and technological skills that go beyond the textbook. By blending multiple disciplines and accommodating different learning styles, this partnership is turning science class into an exciting hub of curiosity, innovation, and hands-on discovery!
