Advising

Advising appointments can be scheduled through the Howdy portal by visiting the My Record tab. Follow the prompts, making sure to leave a comment that lets us know what you're coming in for. This helps us to make the most of your time. After submitting, you will receive a confirmation email.

Changing Majors

Learn how to switch your major to Global Languages & Cultures or change your major to something outside the department.

Declaring Minors

Find guidance on declaring minors, such as Language or Classics, and the requirements for doing so.

Honors Program

This program is designed to provide advanced coursework, individual mentoring, and expanded opportunities for academic research experience and superior scholarly achievement for academically distinguished students.

Learn about the differences between the two, read the requirements, and see how you can take your first steps to pursuing a double major or double degree.

International Experience

Learn about the different requirements for INTS and German majors and find information about area studies.

Language Courses

Learn about placement exams for language courses and see if you qualify for exceptions.

Q-Drop a Course

Submit this completed Google Form: tx.ag/ACADQ and attach your Q-Drop Request form. You must be logged in with your TAMU account. This process may change next semester.

Be sure to check the Academic Calendar, all Q-Drops must be submitted by the listed deadline: registrar.tamu.edu/Academic-Calendar

Audit a Course

You will need to reach out to an instructor to obtain permission to audit a course, then you will reach out to the advising office to verify there is space available. There is no fee associated with auditing a course and no academic credit will be granted for audited courses.
