Full-time international internships

Did you know that you can intern abroad for Psychology credit? Through Texas A&M partner, Global Experiences, TAMU Psychology students can apply for full-time internship placements in Dublin, Barcelona and London. These are full-time, 8-week internships in a range of businesses from small, family-run companies, to non-profits, to multinational companies. Language proficiency is not required but students with Spanish skills will benefit from a dual-language experience in Barcelona placements. All students participate in a Career Development Program and are matched individually to an internship approved by the Study Abroad office and relevant faculty. Only 1 in 10 U.S. undergraduates studies abroad before graduating. Even fewer intern abroad. Not only is an international internship a unique way to travel and immerse yourself in a new culture, but it has also been proven to benefit your career.

Why study or intern abroad?

An international experience builds the skills and qualities that employers look for. Studying abroad gives students a chance to learn about their own capabilities and goals by experiencing subjects that come alive when in their environment, rather than simply read about in texts. By reaching beyond borders and experiencing another culture, students who study abroad will gain new perspective and become more globally engaged. In addition, study abroad returnees show higher rates of civic participation, volunteerism, social entrepreneurship, and are more likely to attend graduate school.
