Research Interests

My primary interests lie in the area of organic chemistry and organic laboratory instruction. I coordinate the lab courses CHEM 237, 238 and 234. I also teach CHEM 234, a writing intensive lab course for chemistry majors. I enjoy teaching my students new lab techniques and introducing them to current areas of research through the experiments they perform. This course exclusively uses electronic assignments, including an electronic lab notebook.

Through lab coordination, I also mentor teaching assistants in how to be effective lab instructors.
