Brenda Thies Colegrove ‘86

After graduating from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Chemistry, Brenda went on to U. C. Berkeley for her Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemical, working in the H.F. Schaefer group. She then joined The Dow Chemical Company (Freeport, TX Operations), where she moved through roles in research (product design and process optimization),  product development and introduction, and global manufacturing analytical development across numerous business units. She retired after 31 years as Research Fellow for Plastics Product Development and Characterization, focused on developing and launching products containing post-consumer recycle. Brenda is married with two daughters and is an avid cyclist, wilderness backpacker, and gardener.
