Research Interests

Dr. deGruyter currently teaches CHEM 227: Organic Chemistry I. Her research interests center on Chemical Education, with particular focus on classroom innovation and the role of psychological safety in promoting student success. She is an impassioned advocate for underrepresented minority students and is staunchly committed to the notion that chemistry should be accessible to—and enjoyable for—all students.
