The programs in philosophy at Texas A&M University are structured to provide students with the skills necessary to appreciate more fully the central concerns of human existence and develop abilities in problem-solving, communication, persuasion, writing, and critical thinking.

Today, the department contains 16 full-time faculty members actively pursuing research in a number of traditions within the discipline. Please visit our Research page for a complete list of faculty research interests and descriptions of individual faculty’s contributions to these areas.

In addition to a premier research profile, we boast award winning Instructional professors.

The department currently offers a B.A. and an undergraduate minor in Philosophy, a B.A. in Society, Ethics, and Law, and a Pre-Law Certificate. At the graduate level, we have a robust and dynamic Ph.D. program.
