The increasing demands that population growth and affluence put on the natural resources and the Earth’s environment require greater numbers of trained professionals and informed citizens.

In this degree program, you will learn about the scientific, human-dimension and policy aspects of environmental issues facing our state and nation.

Students focus coursework on one of five environmental themes:

  1. Coastal and marine environment
  2. Water
  3. Human impact on the environment
  4. Climate change
  5. Biosphere - regions of the Earth occupied by living organisms

Curriculum

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Geosciences embraces all the disciplines of geosciences to give the student a rigorous interdisciplinary education including issues associated with environmental policy.

The degree trains students for employment in industry, environmental and engineering consulting firms, non-governmental organizations and governmental regulatory agencies, among other entities.
