Biography

Current Research Projects

Dr. Howell’s research focuses primarily on cultural memory studies, nineteenth-century German travel literature, as well as the constitution and propagation of current environmental discourses. He wrote his dissertation on Alexander von Humboldt and transcultural memory, and his research has appeared in peer-reviewed publications, such as German Quarterly.
