Chemistry graduate students are generally admitted into the doctoral program. However, with approval, a student may pursue a research-based Master of Science degree with a thesis option.

Graduate students in the Department of Chemistry are required to:

  • Conduct research and write a thesis
  • Enroll in chemistry coursework
  • Serve as teaching assistants for at least two semesters
  • Present at and attend seminars
