Texas A&M Economics Assistant Professor Emily Cook recently won the CESifo Distinguished Affiliate Award at the CESifo Area Conference on Economics of Education in Munich, Germany. 

Dr. Cook was awarded for the scientific originality, policy relevance and quality of exposition of her paper “Market Structure and College Access in the US.”

Dr. Cook is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Texas A&M University. Using methods from labor economics and industrial organization, she studies the causes and consequences of colleges' decisions in the context of US higher education. Her focus is on how decisions made by institutions of higher education are affected by market structure and competition, and how these decisions affect student outcomes such as enrollment, graduation, wages, and employment.
