Research Interests

My name is Clemente Gomez and I am interested in royal patronage during the early modern period. I am currently writing my dissertation on the gracia petitions submitted to the Spanish crown during the reigns of Philip II and Philip III, focusing mostly on petitions from soldiers, civic officials, and widows from the Spanish possessions in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.
