Research Interests

The former Melbern G. Glasscock Chair and an author of nine books, Elizabeth Cobbs has researched and taught all periods in American history. Her primary interests are U.S. foreign relations, where she emphasizes the power of non-governmental groups and other nations to influence government policy, and women’s history, where she emphasizes women’s service to the nation. Dr. Cobbs writes historical fiction as well, in the interest of bringing historical insights and knowledge to the broader public. While at A&M, she won Emmy and Telly awards for documentary on public television.
