Biography

Chair: Dr. Carlos Blanton

Research Interests

My research examines the development of Jewish communities along the US-Mexico border including examinations of the Jewish migration patterns to the border and the relationships between Jews and non-Jews in the region. I seek to place the issues encountered by these isolated communities in context of debates and trends that took place in the American and global Jewish communities throughout the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I have also conducted research on the impact of religion and spirituality in comic books and graphic novels.
