Research Interests
I study the effects of selective aryl hydrocarbon receptor modulators (SAhRMs) on affective disorders in the context of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor’s (AhR) role in the neuro-immuno-metabolic axis as well as its role in the gut-brain-immune axis. Additionally, I study the effects of opioids on social behavior in mice, efficacy and toxicity of nanoparticle-conjugated drugs, the effects of a high fat diet on affective disorders and the ability of SAhRMs to prevent metabolic syndrome, the effects of SAhRMs on early life stress, the role of the AhR in Parkinson’s, and more…
