The B.A. in modern languages will support and advance your international and global competencies.
Prepare for a career in industry, government, academia and non-profit sectors with enhanced foreign language skills. Teaching certification is available to majors through the School of Education and Human Development.
Choose Your Track
You can choose to major in French, German or Russian. Our courses offer extended study of the languages, literatures, social histories and cultures of these language communities.
International Experiences
We offer summer study abroad programs for credit. Departmental faculty and advising staff work closely with students to match their interests with semester and full-year programs abroad.
All German majors are required to study for one semester or summer in a German-speaking country approved by the department.
Enhance Your Degree with a Minor
All modern languages majors are required to select a minor to accompany their major field of study. Minors are 15–18 credit hours and will display on your transcript after graduation, but not on your diploma.
