The minor in French is an academic program open to all students in the university. The minor combines courses in French language and culture and is a valuable complement to the academic portfolio of any student majoring in the humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences, who wishes to add linguistic proficiency in French and an international dimension to their intellectual profile.

Coursework - Choose from a wide range of topics to better understand French language and culture. Topics of study include: 

  • French Society and Culture
  • Technical and Business French
  • Politics, Culture and Society
  • French Literature
  • The Francophone World

International Experiences - In addition, French studies faculty offer study abroad programs in order to enrich student learning experiences and cultural knowledge while helping students attain higher proficiency in the language.
