Biography

Gemini Creason-Parker is a Visiting Assistant Professor and PRODiG+ Fellow at SUNY Potsdam. She has a PhD in Sociology with an emphasis on Crime, Law, and Deviance. She also possesses master's degrees in Criminal Justice and Communication Studies, as well as undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Spanish, all from Northeastern State University. Her research focuses on sexual assault and the media, with her dissertation being titled "'Especially Heinous' and 'Vicious Felonies': A Mixed Methods Investigation of Rape Myths on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU)."
