Biography
I am a first-year sociology doctoral student. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. Prior to joining the sociology program, I spent the last 26 years as an adult probation officer here in Brazos County, Texas. My interests include crime, law and deviance with a focus on the efficacy of assessment instruments on identifying criminogenic needs as well as how mental health is stigmatized especially with those in the criminal justice system. I am a recipient of the 2022 Aviles-Johnson Fellowship. In my free time, I love to travel with my husband, spend time with our five children and our grandson.
