Current and former TAMU Sociology faculty and graduate students at ASA 2025

American Sociological Association (ASA) just wrapped up its Annual Meeting in Chicago, themed "Reimagining the Future of Work". Over 4,000 sociologists both from the US and abroad participated in the meetings. Texas A&M Sociology department was represented by both faculty and graduate student presentations. In addition, many of the ASA attendees are former ASA faculty and graduate students (see the picture).

Dr. Holly Foster organized the sessions for the Crime, Law, and Deviance section. Nancy Plankey-Videla served as panelist on sessions around community-engaged scholarship, Nadia Kim and Joseph Lariscy both served on editorial board sessions, and many faculty (Katherine Maich, Thomas Marlow, Defne Över, Theresa Morris and Heili Pals, among others) served as table presiders and presented their own research papers. Katherine Maich's book "Bringing Law Home" debuted the Stanford University Press booth at the book exhibition.

In addition - we had a strong showing of graduate students at ASA at least 10 graduate students presented their work at the conference.
