
Our very own alumni, Dr. Andrew McNeely (Texas A&M Sociology PhD, 2022) has accepted an Assistant Professor position with the Sociology and Public Health Program at UT Dallas. He will be starting in this faculty position in August 2025. The Sociology and Public Health Program at UT Dallas offers both bachelor's and applied master's degrees in sociology.
Dr. McNeely is currently a postdoctoral researcher with the Institute of Advancing Health through Agriculture at the AgriLife Research Dallas (since March 2023). Dr. McNeely is a qualitative research specialist focusing on issues of food insecurity and health equity. He emphasizes critical structural and cultural lens in both in his research and teaching, and utilizes service-learning and community-based research practices. Dr. McNeely's research has been published at Sociology of Religion; Appetite; MBC Public Health; Journal of Religion and Popular Culture and elsewhere.
