Sociology student workers 2025
Sociology Student Workers: Emma DeBruin and Hannah Dyer (on top); Jayme Cates and Jordan James (bottom)

We are celebrating Student Worker Week! Department of Sociology has four amazing student workers who help to run the department. Hannah Dyer has been with the department for three years; Emma DeBruin, Jordan James, and Jayme Cates joined us one year ago. Hannah serves as the lead office assistant; Emma, Jordan and Jayme serve as office assistants.

Emma is a Marketing major at Mays Business School. Hannah and Jordan both major in Forensic and Investigative Sciences; Hannah with minors in Sociology and Psychology and Jordan with minors in Cybersecurity and Psychology. Jayme majors in Bioenvironmental Sciences with a minor in Business. Hannah and Jordan will be graduating this May. Congratulations!

They all support faculty, graduate students, and staff in various tasks. One cannot imagine how helpless faculty would feel with printers or scanners or shredders without our student workers! But they handle much more than that – from room reservations to planning, design, and everything in-between. Hannah, Emma, Jordan and Jayme make the department feel friendly and alive.

Thank you so much! We really appreciate the work and support you put in our department.
