Anthropology

The College of Arts and Sciences is celebrating 150 years of impact and enhancement.

Part of the college’s success stems from the Department of Anthropology, which began as the Department of Sociology and Anthropology under the College of Agriculture in 1969. By 1975, the legacy College of Liberal Arts created a new program in anthropology. Today, the department excels in many areas, including nautical archaeology and cultural anthropology.
