Biography
Azile Nelson is a Ph.D. student within the department of Communication and Journalism at Texas A&M University. Her research interests include, organizational communication, group dynamics, organizational structures, and conflict. She is also interested in conflict communication and how groups of people can have a productive conversation when discussing polarizing topics. Azile currently has a bachelors and master’s degree in communication with an emphasis on Organizational Communication from Baylor University. During her master’s program, Azile conducted a research study through the Solid Gold Neighbor Research Fellows program. This study used engaged research methods to work with a local nonprofit organization that provides assistance to women attempting to enter or reenter the workforce. She researched how COVID-19 affected working women’s experiences, decision-making processes, and identity formation. Azile hopes to continue her work with non-profit organizations so that her research can have a positive impact on the community that she is a part of.
