Biography
Azile Hotz is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication and Journalism at Texas A&M University. Azile has a bachelor's and master’s degree in communication with an emphasis on Organizational Communication from Baylor University. During her master’s program, Azile conducted a research study through the Solid Gold Neighbor Research Fellows program. This study used engaged research methods to work with a local nonprofit organization that assists women attempting to enter or reenter the workforce. She researched how COVID-19 affected working women’s experiences, decision-making processes, and identity formation. Currently, Azile focuses on religious organizations, specifically organizational structures, religious identity, and conflict. Her most recent studies focus on how members of the American Protestant Church cope with disagreement and conflict within their social groups and roles in their congregations.
