Dear Arts and Sciences faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends,
I am pleased to introduce our College of Arts and Sciences 2025-2035 strategic plan, "A Foundational Future". This plan reflects more than a year of thoughtful, collaborative work by our faculty, staff, students and alumni. I would especially like to recognize Dr. Mark J. Zoran, whose visionary and inclusive leadership inspired and unified our community throughout this process. Dr. Zoran’s commitment to excellence and collaboration will continue to shape our college for years to come.
"A Foundational Future" will serve as our roadmap as we strive to fulfill our missions and achieve new levels of distinction. Our college is a vibrant and diverse learning community, dedicated to providing our students with the knowledge, skills and values needed to respond to future societal challenges and seize career opportunities. We remain deeply committed to our core missions of teaching, research, and service, and to cultivating an engaged citizenry of leaders—both students and scholars—whose work is grounded in the rich traditions of the arts and sciences and the proud legacy of what it means to be an Aggie.
Within this strategic plan, you will find clear goals, objectives and assessment metrics that express our dedication to:
- Amplifying excellence in scholarly activity
- Elevating engagement and success of our undergraduate students
- Preparing our graduate students for impactful careers
- Advancing our contributions throughout Texas and beyond
- Strengthening a culture that values our people and our mission
- Enhancing communication and visibility among our stakeholders
I invite you to read through the plan and engage with its six strategic goals as we implement them in the years ahead. Our website will feature ongoing updates about our progress, milestones and accomplishments. Importantly, our strategic plan is a living document—one that will evolve with both our college and the changing landscape of higher education to meet emerging needs and opportunities.
We can all be proud of what has been achieved through this collaborative process. I am excited for what lies ahead, and for the positive impact our work will continue to have on our students, Texas A&M University, the state of Texas and beyond.
Thank you for your dedication and support!
