William Clark ’84 of Friendswood, Texas, established a planned gift through the Texas A&M Foundation to support the Atmospheric Sciences Sustainability Fund in Texas A&M University’s College of Arts & Sciences.
Clark’s gift will support the work of the college’s Department of Atmospheric Sciences, one of the largest meteorology programs in the nation and the only comprehensive undergraduate, graduate and research program in Texas. Graduates of this program are employed in a variety of related fields, including broadcast meteorology, government agencies, the military, private industry and research organizations.
Clark choose to designate the Texas A&M Foundation as a beneficiary of his IRA. Many Aggies choose this giving option because it allows them to use their IRA as long as necessary. This type of gift, which can be made without legal counsel, may lessen the tax burden on the donor’s family and could qualify for an estate tax charitable deduction.
