Their planned gift will create undergraduate scholarships in the College of Arts and Sciences and Mays Business School.
John “Stephen” Skaggs ’81 and Walter J. Kleine will establish two endowed scholarships in both the College of Arts and Sciences and Mays Business School through a planned gift with the Texas A&M Foundation.
The Skaggs Family Endowed Scholarship for the College of Arts and Sciences honors Walter J. Kleine Jr. Kleine attended the University of Oklahoma and Austin Seminary, earning degrees in psychology and theology. His path throughout college was paved through the support of scholarships, and he continues this tradition for future students in Texas A&M’s College of Arts and Sciences.
The Skaggs Family Endowed Scholarship at Mays Business School honors Stephen, who earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Texas A&M in 1981. Stephen is an organizing partner of The Bank Advisory Group, a firm that specializes in providing bank stock appraisals and bank merger and acquisition advisory services to community banks and their shareholders.
“I am proud to be a former student of Texas A&M, an institution with a rich heritage that instilled in me leadership skills I’ve utilized throughout my life,” Skaggs said.
Scholarship recipients for both endowments will be full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences or Mays Business School.
