Biography

Alison Altman is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry who began her career at Texas A&M on August 1, 2022. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Yale University and her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. From 2013-2016, she was a Nuclear Energy University Program Fellow, and from 2017-2018 served as an International Institute of Nanotechnology Fellow. Her research employs a multimodal approach combining synthesis with spectroscopic characterization and computational prediction methods to crack open the black box of solid-state synthesis. She also runs the Altman Chem Lab.
