The Master of Science (M.S.) in Mathematics program is offered in two modalities. One is delivered in-person on campus and the other is delivered via asynchronous distance education technology.

On-Campus Delivery
The on-campus modality will prepare you to become a successful, professional mathematician working in business, industry, or education.
You will take a spectrum of mathematics classes, complemented by courses targeted to your chosen track. These courses provide a breadth of training and depth of knowledge in an area of specialization. You will also have various opportunities for internship and teaching experiences.
Five tracks are available:
- Traditional (generally, preparation to continue with a Ph.D.)
- Math teaching
- Computational math
- Industrial math
- Math biology

Distance Education
The distance program is designed for individuals with a particular interest in computational math or a desire to teach in K-12 or at community colleges.
This program is intended for individuals with a solid background in mathematics, such as a degree related to mathematics. However, others are encouraged to apply as well.
Texas A&M offers a G6 classification, which is a postgraduate, non-degree-seeking status, so it is not necessary to enroll as a degree-seeking graduate student to enjoy the benefits of the program.
