The Sociology Honors Program is designed for highly motivated and engaged students interested in working closely with distinguished department faculty to study and address real-world social issues and problems. The curriculum is both academically rigorous and engaging and is especially beneficial to those students who may wish to attend graduate school. Honors students will complete advanced coursework and participate in one-on-one research with faculty mentors. Optional honors internships are also available. The program will culminate in a Senior capstone project. Students who complete the program will receive Sociology Honors designation on their official transcript. For more information on how to be admitted to our Honors program and the specific requirements involved, please visit with a sociology advisor or contact the Honors Coordinator, Dr. Richard Abel.
In addition to Sociology Honors, students can earn University and College-level Honors distinctions.
