Sociology Student Association (SSA)
The Sociology Student Association (SSA) Club is open to all students and majors. SSA, or Sociology Club as it is casually called, promotes interest in sociology through activities such as speakers, presentations, and community service events. Joining the Sociology Club can help students grow their professional network and it is a great way to become more involved in our department, in addition to taking on leadership roles within the organization.

Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) International Sociology Honor Society
Alpha Kappa Delta exists for the purposes of supporting the study and discussion of sociology and providing community service. Sociology students inducted into AKD must be advanced students with demonstrated excellence in both the major and the University at large. New initiates join a long line of distinguished sociology students at Texas A&M University and around the world. Each initiate receives a lifetime membership certificate and a year’s subscription to AKD’s journal, Sociological Inquiry. Graduating AKD members receive AKD cords, which they wear proudly during graduation ceremonies. For more information about AKD, visit their website.
