This agreement serves to facilitate the admission and academic transfer of students from Paris Junior College to the Biomedical Sciences program (BIMS) in the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. As students progress successfully toward the completion of the Associate of Science degree, this agreement will ensure the seamless transition of students into the BIMS program according to the provisions and conditions below:

  1. Paris Junior College students who complete the attached degree plan, as full time students will be admitted to the BIMS program automatically, provided: they meet all other general admission requirements (i.e. transcripts, applications, time lines, deadline dates, etc.) for transfer admission to Texas A&M University.
  2. Students must have maintained no less than a cumulative 3.4 GPA in the courses taken at Paris Junior College and be eligible for graduation from Paris Junior College
  3. Students must not have made any grade below a "B" in all of their Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) science and math course work.
  4. This agreement will be reviewed in an annual basis and may be amended by mutual written consent of both parties by issuing an addendum to this agreement.
  5. This agreement will commence effective the Fall 2020 semester with commitment of a five (5) year period.

Paris Junior College and Texas A&M University - College Station have entered into an articulation agreement to provide a seamless transition for students into a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University - College Station for those who complete the Associate of Science Degree in Biomedical Science at PJC. PJC students are required to complete the approved A.S. in Biomedical Science degree plan with a 3.4 GPA and no grade below "B" in science or math courses to be guaranteed admission as a junior in the Biomedical Sciences program at Texas A&M.

Biomedical Science is the broad field of applied biology related to health and disease. Biomedical Sciences baccalaureate graduates are primed to enter such professional schools as human medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, osteopathy, podiatry, optometry, pharmacy, and law just to name a few.
