The Journalism and Media Practices (JMP) Division emphasizes journalism and communication techniques that contribute to an informed public by equipping Texas A&M students with essential media and journalistic skills to have positive societal impacts. We stress the importance of rigorous journalistic ethics, thorough, accurate, and unbiased reporting, and we train students in advanced production and design skills crucial for navigating today's complex media landscape. Our faculty includes distinguished industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and media artists who bring decades of experience into the classroom. The curriculum promotes a thorough understanding of journalism and emerging media's role in democracy, supplemented by practical experiences such as internships, work in our Creative Media Lab, and collaborations with student and professional media organizations.
